The HEC Real Estate Chair combines two elements:
- A Center for the promotion of business education across Europe in real estate economics and finance as well as in entrepreneurial real estate management
- An academic Chair in recognition and in support of the faculty's research achievements.
Missions and Objectives
The Real Estate Certificate has the following objectives:
- To develop courses focused on real estate economics and finance for MSc, Specialized Masters, CEMS and MBA students at HEC (see the Real Estate program icon on the left)
- To extend the global reach of the real estate industry and its leading players
- To develop sophisticated professionals and provide them with the necessary skills to succeed in the global real estate industry and to recruit tomorrow's best talents
The real estate industry has gone through profound transformations in the last few years, and recent events show that the industry needs professionals who are well-trained in the complexities of real estate product evaluation and management.
Though the word 'real estate' usually conjures up images of jobs related to housing or small residential projects (such as real estate agents) the truth is that jobs in the industry are largely concerned with medium- and large-sized property investment and management (commercial, industrial, urban, residential properties). It is this kind of real estate sector that the Real Estate Chair will mainly focus on.

The Certificate is open to:
