EUROPEAN SUSTAINABLE DESIGN COUNCIL

The ESDC brings together leaders in industry, business and government to identify and break down the barriers that prevent the implementation of sustainable design solutions within industries. On February 4th 2009, senior level officials gathered at the residence of the British Ambassador to France for an initial kick-off meeting. Hosted by British Ambassador Sir Peter Westmacott, along with Autodesk and the HEC Europe Institute, attendees discussed the importance of design in the move towards a more sustainable planet and explored what a dedicated group of leaders from the public and private sector could do to further the widespread implementation of sustainable design. This was the first of many meetings to come for the ESDC.
