Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law & Risk Regulation

Alberto Alemanno is Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law and Risk Regulation. Alberto is the founder and scientific director of the EU Public Interest Law Clinic established by HEC Paris and NYU School of Law. He holds LLM degrees from the College of Europe and Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. in International Law & Economics from Bocconi University.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Risk Regulation, a member of the Editorial Board of the Revue du Droit de l'Union Européenne, the European Food and Feed Law Review and is the founder of the Summer Academy in Global Food Law & Policy. He advises international organisations, such as the European Commission, the OECD and the World Health Organization as well non profits in EU law and policy, regulatory reform, public health, international trade issues and advocacy.

His research and teaching activities focus on European Law, International Economic Law, WTO law, Risk Regulation as well as Regulatory Reform. He has published Trade in Food - Regulatory and Judicial Approaches in the EC and the WTO (Cameron May, 2007), Regulating Lifestyle Risks (Cambridge University Press, 2015), Nudge and the Law (Hart, 2015) and several articles in academic journals such as the Harvard International Law Journal, Common Market Law Review, European Law Journal, Law & Contemporary Problems and the European Journal of Consumer Law. Alberto Alemanno has also taught at Georgetown University, Amsterdam University, St. Gallen University, Bocconi University, Tokyo University, Moscow State University, Liège Law School,Fribourg University, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa and Macau Law School.
