Selin Atalay holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University.

Her research interests focus primarily on consumer decision-making processes. She is mostly interested in the effects of mortality salience and affect on consumer decision making as well as, disposing, self-gifting behavior and consumer satisfaction.

Selin Atalay has published in the Journal of Consumer Research, Computational Statistics and Data Analyses and Psychology and Marketing. Her teaching interests include psychology of decision making and consumer behavior.
