Elie Matta is Associate Professor and Associate Dean, in charge of the PhD program.
He completed a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario, Canada.
His research focuses on chief executive officers, managerial risk taking, executive decision making, and global strategy. His work has appeared in the leading academic journals Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. He regularly presents his research in international academic conferences (Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society) and industry events. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for various academic journals and research grant foundations. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Academy of Management Journal since 2011.
He has received various research awards including the J. Armand Bombardier Ph.D. Fellowship in Global Management, the University of Western Ontario Plan for Excellence Award, and the Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence Award. He also received in 2015 the Academy of Management Journal Best Reviewer Award.
Elie teaches in the Master of Science, MBA, Ph.D., and Executive MBA. He has served as the academic director of the HEC-Oxford Executive Master Program in Consulting and Coaching for Change and as the academic coordinator of the Managerial Competencies offerings in the Master of Science Program. He received in 2010 and in 2012 the Commission of European Management Schools' Course of the Year Award for his course in "Managing Global Complexity."
