Gonçalo PACHECO DE ALMEIDA
Strategy and Business Policy

Gonçalo Pacheco de Almeida earned his Ph.D. in Management from INSEAD and holds an M.B.A. in Strategy and Finance and a B.A. in Economics.
He is interested in problems of competitive strategy dynamics including time-based competition, the timing of new technology development, and strategic investment under uncertainty. His research articles have been published in leading strategy and economics journals such as the RAND Journal of Economics , Management Science , Strategic Management Journal , and the Academy of Management Journa l. He teaches Advanced Strategy Analysis, Strategy in Dynamic Environments, Business Strategy, and Negotiation to MBA, Executive MBA, and undergraduate students. Before joining HEC Paris, Gonçalo Pacheco de Almeida was an Assistant Professor of Strategy at the Stern School of Business, New York University, a guest lecturer at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques and an instructor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Gonçalo Pacheco de Almeida currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Strategic Management Journal.
His research has received an honorable mention as a finalist for the 2010 annual Strategic Management Society Best Conference paper Prize, a Distinguished Paper Award and four Best Paper Nominations by the Business Policy and Strategy Division of the Academy of Management. He was also a recipient of the Science and Technology Foundation Fellowship and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Fellowship.
