Bertrand Quélin obtained his Doctorate Degree in Economics from the University of Paris.
From 1999 to 2005, he has been Associate Dean for the Ph.D. program at HEC Paris. From 1994 to 1999, then from 2006 to 2012, he was Academic Director of the HEC MSc in Strategic Management.
He was Visiting Research Scholar at the W. Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley (1996-97 and 2005), and at Insper (São Paulo) and Fundação Getulio Vargas (Rio de Janeiro) in 2012-2013.
He has also had teaching assignments at the NHH (Bergen, Norway), at the CFVG (Hanoi, Vietnam), at the UFRGS (Porto Alegre & Sao Paolo; Insper; FGV - Brazil), and at HEC Lausanne.
He also gave seminars at Berkeley UC and Stanford University and in many European academic institutions (Un. of Bocconi, Politechnico di Milano, HEC Lausanne). He is currently running the Major in Digital and Telecoms Businesses within the HEC e-MBA.

His research interests include economics of organization, transaction cost economics and outsourcing, and public-private partnerships.

He is the author of several papers published in international journals (among them: Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Strategic Organization,...) and of numerous chapters in collective books.
