Marketing is becoming more and more crucial for value creation in any kind of business. Combined with innovation, it is a driving force in the building of a competitive advantage. All over the world, marketing activities influence people's lives and desires. The economic crisis, changing consumer preferences, globalization, and social networks are currently creating huge challenges and opportunities for marketers. These changes will continue to have a significant impact on the marketing process in the years to come and will provide great opportunities for the marketing faculty to make a significant impact in the future.
The department is truly international, with a representation of eight different nationalities. Our traditional strengths are in brand management, Business-to-Business marketing, consumer behavior, pricing, and sales force management. Besides, we have strong expertise in specific sectors as media, health, and distribution. More recently, the department has developed programs and courses in luxury marketing, social business, and web 2.0 marketing. The subject area is home to a successful PhD program that currently counts 12 doctoral students.
The Department at a glance
Excellence-driven work in the Marketing Department at HEC is based on strong values: supported by the institutions, our professors work to generate new marketing knowledge, in a very autonomous way with their assistants, and they take initiatives, individually or collectively, to support our vision of marketing as a part of an ever changing world. The Marketing Department is faced with great challenges and opportunities to sustainably inscribe marketing in the future through disseminating knowledge in the classroom.
Marc Vanhuele, Associate Dean, Coordinator.
We are inviting applications for tenure-track and tenured positions starting in the 2014-2015 academic year.
The Marketing Department offers academic programs and courses at five levels:
- Undergraduate Program
- Specialized Master Program
- MBA Program
- Executive Education Program
- Doctoral Program
A lot of our programs and courses are developed in close cooperation with companies to ensure a perfect match between practice and theory. Longer term partnerships have been established by means of four company-sponsored chairs: Social Business with Danone, New Business Models in Energy with EDF, Management of Prestige Brands with Pernod Ricard, and Marketing with SFR.
