Gilles Laurent winner of EMAC Distinguished Marketing Scholar Award 2012
Professor Gilles Laurent of HEC Paris is the winner of the EMAC Distinguished Marketing Scholar Award 2012. This annual award is designed to be the highest honor that a marketing educator who has had extensive connections with EMAC (The European Marketing Academy) can receive.
The two main criteria for the award are:
- Outstanding marketing scholarship as reflected in extensive, impactful research contributions and
- Outstanding contributions to the European Marketing Academy.
For EMAC, Gilles Laurent has been Editor of the International Journal of Research in Marketing. He has also served as Vice-President Publications of EMAC and he has been a major source of support for EMAC throughout his career, having played an active role in organizing almost all EMAC conferences. Gilles has been a key driver of EMAC's growth and recognition throughout Europe and in the U.S. Currently he serves as Dean of EMAC Fellows.
Frédéric Iselin and Etienne Krieger, Affiliate Professors at HEC Paris, were appointed the International Network of Business and Management Journal (INBAM) Award for the Best Paper presented.
During a conference on "Innovation, Finance and Entrepreneurship" on 3 February 2012, at the Geneva School of Business Administration, Frédéric Iselin and Etienne Krieger, Affiliate Professors at HEC Paris, were appointed the International Network of Business and Management Journal (INBAM) Award for the Best Paper presented.
The paper entitled "You Said Successful? Actual and Perceived Performance of Venture Capital in France," co-written by Frédéric Iselin, Etienne Krieger, Karim Medjad, Romain Grandsart and Violetta Gerasymenko was published in the 2011 fall edition of the International Journal of Business.
Diane-Laure Arjaliès's thesis also received the award for best thesis FIR PRI-2011
The Award for best thesis FIR PRI-2011, which is the prize for "Finance and Sustainable Development" awarded by the Forum for Responsible Investment (FIR) and the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) launched by the United Nations.
Jean-Paul Larçon, Honorary Doctor of the Norwegian School of Economics
Professor Jean-Paul Larçon, Senior Associate Dean for International Development, HEC Paris is among the new Honorary Doctors. The professor has contributed to the establishment and development of new business schools in Eastern Europe in connection with NHH after the collapse of the iron curtain.
The Honorary Doctors have all distinguished themselves internationally by remarkable academic contributions of the highest quality. They have also contributed to the academic development of NHH and to strengthening the international relations of NHH and its international reputation.
Corey Phelps has been awarded the Syntec Management Consulting Best article award in the category "Management/Ressources Humaines/Organisation"
The "Prix de la Recherche en Management" is intended to reward the best articles in management science in four separate categories.
Corey Phelps, Professor of Strategy and Business Policy Department, received the Best Paper Award in the category Marketing / Decision Sciences for the article Learning from what others have learned from you : The effects of knowledge spillovers on originating firms, Academy of Management Journal.
Marc Vanhuele has been awarded the Syntec Management Consulting Best article award in the category "Marketing/Sciences de la Décision"
The "Prix de la Recherche en Management" is intended to reward the best articles in management science in four separate categories.
Marc VANHUELE, Professor of Marketing Department, received the Best Paper Award in the category Marketing / Decision Sciences for the article Mind-set metrics in market response models: an integrative approach, Journal of Marketing Research.

David Thesmar received the "Prix Turgot", with Augustin Landier, for their book "La société translucide" ("the translucent society").
The 24th "Prix Turgot", which rewards the best financial economics book of the year, has been awarded yesterday to Augustin Landier and David Thesmar for their new book "La société translucide".
To escape from short-term tyranny and the multiplication of failed reforms, Augustin Landier and David Thesmar give instructions for the use of a translucent society; in other words, mature enough to save, during the forthcoming decade, the French model.

Best y-BIS Paper Award 2010 for "Efficient Estimation of Learning Models" (with Laurent Calvet), provided by the American Statistical Association and the National Institute of Statistical Sciences.
This prize rewards the work of a young researcher, Veronika Czellar.
Frederic Iselin, Affiliate Professor at HEC Paris, has been awarded the 2010 ANDESE Prize
Frederic Iselin, Affiliate Professor at HEC Paris and Director of the HEC Start-Up Center, received the 2010 ANDESE Prize for his thesis in management science on the theme "ProposingValue and Positioning Price:" The place of customer value in the pricing of innovative offerings: the case of technological start-ups" (defended March 13, 2009).
ANDESE, the National Association of Doctors in Economics and Management , encourages research in management and economy by rewarding the best thesis entered.
This prize therefore aligns itself with the associated aim of ANDESE: to promote PhD programs and to enhance the advances in academic knowledge in these disciplines.
The ceremony awarding the 2010 ANDESE prize was held on Monday, September 27 at the College de France.
Professor Rodolphe Durand has been awarded by the Imagination Lab Foundation
Rodolphe Durand, Professor of Strategy and Business Policy at HEC Paris, has been selected for the 2010 Award for Innovative Scholarship offered by the Imagination Lab Foundation.
Professor Durand has been awarded “for the inspirational way in which [he] blends imaginative philosophical reflections into rigorously executed research, [his] ability to bring communities of scholarship together, and [his] keen desire to address important societal and institutional questions in [its] research and as part of [his] new research centre.”
The Imagination Lab Foundation Award for Innovative Scholarship was established in late 2006 to honour innovative scholarly activity rather than specific achievements, like a paper. The award was established as a long-term collaboration between Swiss-based Imagination Lab Foundation and Europe Academy of Management (EURAM).
Every year, the Editorial Team of the Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing nominates one Outstanding Paper and up to three Highly Commended Papers from the previous 12 months.
The article "benchmarking the Impact of customer share in key-supplier relationships", authored by Andreas Eggert, Wolfgang Ulaga and Sabine Hollmann and published in JBIM (Volume 24, No. 3 & 4), has been selected as a Highly Commended Paper at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2010. The article has been described as "one of the most impressive pieces of work the (editorial) team has seen throughout 2009."
