Sirle Bürkland received a Ph.D. in accounting in 2009 from the University of Vaasa, Finland.
Her research interests cover the areas of organizational learning, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and management accounting change. Prior to joining HEC, she was on the faculty at University of Tartu in Estonia.
Besides her academic work, she has been working as an accountant and financial manager in biotechnology industry. She is a member of European Network for Research in Organisational and Accounting Change (ENROAC), and European Accounting Association (EAA). In 2008 she received the EIASM award for the contribution to the Development of Intangibles and Intellectual Capital Theory and Practice.
