Elie Matta is an Associate Professor at HEC Paris. He earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration in 2004, from the Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario, Canada.
His research interests are primarily in agency theory and prospect theory, with focus on chief executive officers, executive compensation, managerial risk taking, and international strategy. His research has appeared in the leading academic journals, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. He regularly presents his research in international academic conferences and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for various academic journals and research grant foundations.
He has received various awards including the J. Armand Bombardier Ph.D. Fellowship in Global Management and the University of Western Ontario Plan for Excellence Award, and the Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence Award. He also received in 2010 the CEMS Best Cours of the Year Award for his course "Managing Global Complexity." He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Academy of Management Journal.
