Foundation and Chairs

EDITORIAL

The reputation of management schools is in large part determined by the quality and quantity of innovative research conducted by its professors. The schools with the strongest reputation in turn attract the best talent, both in terms of students (and participants in advanced executive courses) and new professors. And of course by attracting the best professors, a school consolidates its capacity for innovation. For many years now the HEC Foundation has played a crucial role in maintaining this virtuous circle.
The Foundation's member companies provide an impetus and a specific focus for innovation by HEC's professors, by financing chairs and ambitious research projects. In these web pages, which explain the Foundation's role in supporting research, you will find descriptions of the chairs currently being funded, and of some of the research projects financed by the Foundation.
The Foundation's research committee directs funding and follows up projects to check their productivity. The committee has a say in which research projects receive funding, and provides advice on their focus. The committee allocates the available funding between research projects and shared resources (for example bibliographical and financial databases). You will find details of the committee's membership on this site.
