Ranked n°1 in the world by the Financial Times in 2009, the CEMS Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) is a top-level postgraduate degree open to multilingual students enrolled in one of the CEMS member schools.
The CEMS MIM is the ultimate academic-corporate bridge program : multinational companies and international calibre professors from top business schools and universities combine to design and deliver theoretical knowledge and practical know-how.
This exposure to top-class teaching and the operational expertise of world-renowned companies gives CEMS students a golden opportunity to consolidate previous knowledge and apply newly-acquired skills. The balance of theoretical and experiential learning is achieved via a multi-faceted, carefully designed course taken over a 12-month period.
Selected students for the CEMS option will study one semester at HEC Paris, one in a partner school, and follow at least 10 weeks of professional internship. Once they have met all the requirements of the program, they will be awarded both the HEC MSc in International Business and the CEMS MIM degree.
The Community of European Management Schools is a strategic alliance of 28 world-class academic institutions and over 60 multinational companies to offer international, postgraduate students a unique blend of high quality education and professional experience.
Co-founded in 1988 by HEC Paris, ESADE, l'Università Bocconi and the University of Cologne, the CEMS set up a truly harmonized educational network throughout Europe, based on a joint degree. Student exchanges are only one aspect, professors are also free to cooperate in joint teaching, research and doctoral education in other universities within the partnership.
This innovative commitment has grown rapidly, largely due to the success of its flagship program, the CEMS MIM.
Since the first CEMS degree was awarded in 1988, more than 4000 graduates of 47 different nationalities have now successfully taken their place in the international business community.
67 % of graduates consider that the CEMS Master gave them a distinct advantage in their recruitment and starting up their career. What sets them apart from the rest is their strong academic and linguistic potential, their ability to understand and adapt to cultural differences and their additional qualification in the world of international business.
More than 33 % of CEMS graduates, from all schools, work in a different country to that of their home. Students' most preferred destinations are, in order, the UK, Germany, France and Switzerland. Many French graduates choose to direct themselves toward the UK and Germany but also toward the USA, Italy and Hong Kong.
65 % use one or more foreign languages on a daily basis in their professional life. More than 35 foreign languages are spoken by CEMS graduates. The languages which are most spoken in the "CEMS Community" are English and French, then German and Spanish.
