Walid Alissa has been Professor of financial accounting at HEC since 2009. He graduated from Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He worked for nearly three years in this field before moving to the US, where he earned his MBA in finance from the University of California in Los Angeles in 2003, and his PhD in accounting from Pennsylvania State University in 2009. His research uses archived financial data to investigate corporate governance, disclosure, the impact of regulation and accounting irregularities.
