Business Source Complete (EBSCO)

Access to the full text of more than 3,500 academic journals, some dating from 1886. Also available are country studies, sector studies, company profiles, and SWOTs analyses (direct access to these types of documents via the "Business Search Interface" then go to the "Browse" green box) .

Capital Finance - Deals (Les Echos)

Capital Structure provides extensive debt capital structure for over 60,000 global public and private companies and equity capital structure data on over 80,000 active and inactive companies worldwide.

People Intelligence covers over 4.5 million professionals and over 2.4 million people including private and public company executives, board members, and investment professionals. Students' theses of the Grande Ecole have been available in full text since 2005. Periodical articles provided by the analysis of the journals and press received by the library and from the Delphes' references. References dating from 1987 are available for books and 1990 for articles.

The Centre for Economic Policy Research provides access to a full text database including discussion papers, publications, meeting reports and CEPR researcher names and addresses.

Compustat Global Data (Standard and Poor’s)

Official financial and stock-exchange databases covering all markets except North America (see Compustat North America).

Covers 90% of the international market, including 90% of the Asian market, 90% of the Indian market, 95% of the Taiwanese market, and 95% of the European market. Quarterly data available for the past 12 years and annual data available for the past 20 years.

Compustat North America (Standard and Poor’s)

Official financial and stock-exchange databases covering the North-American market (for the rest of the world, see Compustat Global Data)

Gives financial information with pre-calculated ratios and descriptions of the activities of the business. Gives particular attention to the construction, retail sales, and oil, airline, and health industries. Quarterly data available for the past 12 years and annual data available for the past 20 years.

CRSP - Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP)

Maintains a collection of security prices, returns, and volumes data for the NYSE, AMEX, and NASDAQ stock markets.

Includes monthly U.S. stock data (start date: December 1925), daily U.S. stock data (start date: July 1962), and survivorship-bias free daily U.S. mutual fund data (start date: January 1962). CRSP includes the CRSP Mutual Fund database designed to facilitate research on the historical performance of open-ended mutual funds by using survivor-bias-free data.

CRSP Mutual Fund (CRSP)

This database is designed to facilitate research on the historical performance of open-ended mutual funds by using survivor-bias-free data.
All data items are for open-end mutual funds and begin at varying times from 1962 depending on their availability. It currently contains complete historical information for over 30,361 (11,232 dead and 19,129 live funds) open-ended funds.

The database is updated quarterly and distributed with a quarterly lag.

CRSP/Compustat Merged Database - CCM (CRSP)

The CRSP/Compustat Merged Database (CCM) is comprised of CRSP and Compustat data together.

It includes the link and link-history references between these two databases. It includes Standard and Poor's Compustat data, reformatted into CRSP's proprietary CRSP Access database format.

Dafsaliens (Dafsaliens)

Identifies and updates financial and human links connecting the 500 major French groups to their shareholders and subsidiaries.

References 120,000 companies and 18,000 decision-makers. History of shareholders and participants for the past 10 years.

Dalloz (Dalloz)

Juridical database specialized in French law. The database covers the following areas: administrative law, civil law, labor law, real estate law, and criminal law.

Data Publica (Data Publica)

Data Publica develops, maintains, and manages a directory of French public and private data available to evrybody. The portal gathers 2,000 public data collected from 1,380 public organizations and private publishers. Allow you to access data on several areas including economics and finance.

Datastream (Thomson Reuters)

Information on market indexes, the total volume of transactions, economic indicators, shares and bonds, and exchange and interest rates for more than 100,000 equities in more than 175 countries and 60 markets.

You will also find in this database the prices of raw materials. Information available for the past 15 years.

- Select the 5 minute Preview and decide after this time if you wish to continue reading or not. During these 5 minutes you can only access the first 50 pages of the document. After this time is completed you may access the entire book if required.

The ebooks are available in streaming on touch screen tablets.

Diane (Bureau Van Dijk)

Company accounts are issued by the French Greffes des tribunaux de Commerce (French business court registry). Diane also includes information concerning company activities, shareholding access, board members, status, and 50 pre-calculated ratios.

Digital Theatre Plus (on trial until July 4th)

Digital Theatre Plus is a platform which offers numerous fully recorded live theatre plays.

It works with the main UK cultural institutions (The Royal Shakespeare Company, Almeida, Young Vic, etc.) to broadcast their productions and offer them online.

It also contains :

- study guides of theatre, opera and ballet,

- interviews with actors, producers and creative teams of these productions,

- Broadway Digital Archives,

- a new production about every 6 weeks.

  • Historical data going back to 1977 for France, and to 1986 for other countries

The +: "company reports" offers a history of financial data. Be aware that when carrying out a search, it is better to use the tab "Search > Text search" instead of "Companies" even if that seems a slight contradiction.

There are two main ways to search on the Euromonitor database. You can first of all search by the menu. You must then find the category in which the market you require is situated and then specify its geographic location. For this it is better to use the text search, this involves entering the name of the product. Euromonitor also gives you results on all documents which cite the keyword more than once.

Europresse (CEDROM-SNi)

Press databases containing 1,500 titles (including 200 publications in PDF format) and more than 1,000 specialized blogs.

From 1st January 2011, the contents of the newspaper Le Monde (printed version) and website lemonde.fr is accessible exclusively on Europress. All publications are available free of embargoes except those subject to embargoes publishers.

Access: only three simultaneous connections are allowed. If you are unable to connect to the resource, you can consult Factiva which includes a similar but additional content regarding Europresse.

Eurostaf (Le Groupe les Echos)

Platform providing access to a selection of market studies on the following sectors: Bank and assurance, Consumer goods, Energy and environment, Luxury, Fashion and beauty, Pharmacy and healthcare, Transportation and logistics.

Most of the studies are available 6 months after their publication date.

Eventus performs event studies using data read directly from CRSP stock databases or pre-extracted from any source.

Database of international news containing 10,000 worldwide full text publications. Contains information on company financial health (tab "Companies/Market" > "Company" > "Search for a company" > "Reports" > "Financial Health").

Includes Le Monde, Les Echos, Le Figaro, La Tribune, The Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal as well as the continuous information from Reuters, Dow Jones, and the Associated Press.

French official statistics portal (French National Council for Statistical Information)

The web portal of official statistics has been established at the request of the French National Council for Statistical Information (Cnis) to enable the public to have better access to all the statistical information produced by official statistics

The web portal provides a unified access to these statistics sometimes scattered over several sites. It is fed by the websites of official statistics producers (INSEE, statistical departments of ministries and other qualified bodies).   • Global Economic Monitor: refreshed daily. Provides high frequency indicators on economic trends, economic, financial and commodity data, and growth and commodity forecasts
  • Africa Development Indicators: contains over 1,600 indicators, covering 53 African countries and spanning the period 1961 to 2008. World Competitiveness (IMD)

Database on the competitiveness of nations, including information from the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook, annual report which has been published by IMD since 1989.

To consult print copies of the Yearbook, consult the library catalog.

The statistics are updated as soon as new data becomes available. The competitiveness rankings are recalculated once a year, usually by mid-May. Time series for up to 15 years can be downloaded in Excel or PDF format.

Xerfi 700 (Groupe Xerfi)

Quantitative and qualitative analyses developed by the Xerfi Institute on the French competitive sectors and some European countries.

Reports from the Precepta collection are available via the library catalog. To find them, search the catalog with the words "Xerfi" or "Precepta". Sectoral studies available from 2000 onwards.

On the new interface, we appreciated the immediate reactions of Alexander Law and the synthesis of studies Xerfi 700 (it would be ideal to have a translation for all these studies). It is very useful to have access to the "Prévisis letter" from the database, as well as the possibility to see recorded conferences on video. However, it is a shame there is commercial advertising on the home page.
