Experience Life at the Heart of a Historic Capital City

Located just 4km from Washington DC, Georgetown University is a truly exciting place to study. Washington is a center of American law, politics and history, home to the US congress, the Supreme Court and administrative agencies. Students also have a wealth of cultural activities at their disposal, with easy access to museums, theaters, concert halls and famous monuments and landmarks.

For more information, see Georgetown Law campus page.

Student Associations

Educating the whole person is at the core of Georgetown’s philosophy and values, and extra-curricular involvement is central to campus life. Georgetown students have a selection of some 200 student-run clubs and societies to get involved in, including sporting, cultural, academic, social and political organizations. Staff from the ‘Center for student engagement’ work collectively with students at all levels, taking practical steps to enhance the extra-curricular student experience.

Campus Facilities

Most Graduate students live in neighborhoods surrounding the main campus, whilst others often choose to rent accommodation in DC, Maryland and Virginia. Although no accommodation is exclusively reserved for Masters Students, a limited number of rooms are available in Rosslyn, Virginia through an agreement with the Virginian Suites. The Office of Neighborhood Life at Georgetown is devoted to verifying the appropriateness of all accommodation both in terms of security and accessibility and making housing recommendations.

Georgetown’s 103 acre campus has a range of facilities for the exclusive use of its students, which includes: arts and culture facilities, various places to eat (dining hall, restaurants, fast-food outlets, coffee shops, bars and a supermarket), a range of sporting facilities, a student health center, a bookstore and a career center.
