- Can you tell us about your academic background before joining HEC?
Immediately before joining HEC, I was a pure mathematics researcher and teaching assistant at University College London. This follows an MPhil in mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
I also hold two Bachelor’s degrees from the Université Catholique de Louvain, in physics and mathematics.
- What advice would you give to someone with a similar profile as yours and who is thinking of joining the HEC MIF?
Go for it! The program introduces the theoretical foundations of finance and offers a business perspective that will balance your quantitative skill set. The broad spectrum of elective courses with leading professionals will help guide your early career in the right direction. Above all, it is a unique opportunity to build strong professional and social networks in the finance industry.
- Could you describe your current position at UBS?
I joined the alternative investments division of UBS Investment Bank as a fund-linked derivatives trader. I am currently working for the swap-based ETF platform (a cross-divisional business venture) on the Investment Bank side. I am responsible for the collateral and index swaps trading activity and for leading various quantitative research projects.
