Assistant Vice President at Commerzbank AG
At HEC Paris students get the chance to pursue their academic interests in an environment that fosters talent, excellence, diversity, and internationality.
Before coming to HEC I worked in structured finance at Commerzbank in Germany. I have a background in business administration with specializations in mathematics, finance, and entrepreneurship.
A one-of-a-kind business school
From my previous experience I had gained a profound understanding of analyzing companies and business models. At the same time, I felt that I wanted to learn more about the (macro-)economy as a whole and how markets are interlinked on a global level.
HEC was the only business school that offered a program which allowed me to combine my greatest academic passions: understanding economic theory while at the same time taking advanced classes in finance and strategic management, and, on top of that, improving my French. At HEC students get the chance to pursue their academic interests in an environment that fosters talent, excellence, diversity, and internationality.
Through a wide range of career fairs, workshops, and on-campus networking events HEC helps its students to get in touch with potential employers and develop the soft skills needed to succeed in today’s job market.
An unrivalled education
To me the MFE program means…
… Analyzing financial cycles and crises. Tailor-made career events. Team spirit. Learning from world class researchers. MFE alumni mixers. Courses taught by professionals working for the OECD, ECB, McKinsey, A.T. Kearney, BRED, Société Générale, BNP Paribas. The HEC certificates. Inspiring dinners with friends.
A contemporary outlook
One of the most valuable things I’ve learnt at HEC is to form a qualified opinion on current economic topics, such as central bank decisions, capital flows to emerging markets, banking and currency crises, or changes in sovereign ratings.
Thanks to the MFE program I broadened my horizon in many different ways and enjoyed studying with peers from various cultural and educational backgrounds.
