Students’ diversity creates a challenging atmosphere that pushes you to work to the best of your ability
My name is Alexandre Flinois. I have an international background since I have lived in Europe (Paris and London) and North America (NYC and Montreal). I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from McGill University and experience as a software developer at Ingenico, service desk manager at Atos and business analyst at Google.
I chose HEC Paris for the reputation and the network opportunities and I applied for the Strategic Management program because of the focus on practical skills over theoretical concepts. The program is a mix of core courses, electives and a certificate that fitted my expectations of a graduate degree. Also, I believed that strategy was the most analytical specialization that could be useful in most job positions.
The Strategic Management program is the ideal environment to network with students from all over the world
The students in the class are all ambitious with impressive backgrounds. The diversity creates a challenging atmosphere that pushes you to work to the best of your ability. Also, the program exposes you to all kinds of cases and scenarios that force you to work outside of your comfort zone.
Leveraging the entrepreneurial spirit
An important skill that HEC Paris provides is the confidence to explore new things. HEC's network gives you entrepreneurial opportunities that are rare. Everyone around campus is creating a business or launching a new idea because the school encourages you to take risks.
After HEC, I aim to work in a strategic role in a tech startup with a focus on mobile and analytics
