As well as providing a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the business strategies of emerging countries and how companies deal with a globally competitive environment, Professor Lazzarini also used his visit to the campus to carry out some research.
Prof. Lazzarini was invited by Bertrand Quelin, HEC Paris Professor of Strategy and Business Policy who first went to Brazil in 2012, to start a collaborative new research project on public-private partnerships around the world. The pair meet again today to finalize the first results of their research. Their study describes how partnerships are organized differently within various contexts, based on the participation of 800 partnerships from 60 different countries.
In addition to this fruitful collaboration, Quelin and Lazzarini also co-wrote the article “The Role of Public Capabilities and Institutional Determinants in Public-Private Partnerships: A Cross-Industry and Country Examination” alongside Sandro Cabral (Salvador do Bahia) and Ilze Kivleniece from Imperial College.
