Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the summer program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key success factors for fashion ventures according to business units and markets
  • Understand the major differences between fashion business models (i.e. luxury vs. mass fashion; Haute-Couture vs. Ready-to-Wear) and fashion business units (i.e. apparel; accessories; footwear)
  • Catch zeitgeist and trends and adapt value brand propositions for both brands and consumers
  • Apply fashion brand and product management models
  • Analyze and bolster fashion brand image
  • Build and develop successful styles and collections according to parent brand and product category specificities
  • Promote and communicate about the brand and new collections.

  • Steve Hounkponou, Paris Area manager (multi stores) for Coach Leatherware
  • Pascal Leprovost, Head of MIS department at Y. Saint Laurent. Pascal is in charge of defining and implementing the IT policy all along the fashion value chain
  • Géraldine Martin (HEC 2010), Former Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and forever a fashion lover, she is also highly knowledgeable in fashion management and retail
  • Carlos Pellegrini, Head of Wholesale, in charge of international business development at Karl Laggerfeld. Formerly Wholesale Director for Escada and Sonia Rykiel
  • Xavier de Rauquemaurel, A men’s fashion and luxury expert. For more than twenty years, he has managed luxury brand collections including Loewe, Ermenegildo Zegna and Cifonelli. An MBA graduate, Xavier is settled in Switzerland where his passion for men’s luxury and fine watchmaking led him to revive a legendary Haute Horlogerie brand: Czapek & Cie
  • Jeanette Seebacher. For ten years Jeanette has compiled extensive experience in luxury fashion retail and product development at Louis Vuitton
  • Jonathan Trepo (HEC 2008), Multichannel director, The Kooples including ecommerce business and development.
