University-level students and recent graduates of all nationalities.
The majority of undergraduate university-level students will be in their 3rd or 4th year of University studies; however, applications are also welcome from exceptional students who are at least 19 years old. The summer pedagogy is crafted to take into account differences of age and experience.
Summer Programs are only offered in June and July.
HEC Paris Summer Programs are intensive two week courses held in English. All students are expected to be fluent in English.
Summer Programs are open to students of all domains who are seeking a top-level academic experience, whether the topic be a new or familiar one. However, for the program on Mergers and Acquisitions, students attending are encouraged to have taken the Investment Banking and International Corporate Finance Summer program or to have a background in Accounting, Corporate Finance and Economics.
HEC Paris Summer School Programs are intensive two-week modules. Students select 1 Summer Program per two-week period. 2017 Summer School students can attend a total of 3 Summer Programs over a 6-week period.
Students should carefully choose programs of interest when applying. It is not possible to change programs once admitted.
Upon admissions, students are expected to provide the following documents in French or English (other languages will not be accepted):
- Copy of passport
- Housing application
- Proof of civil liability and medical insurance for your stay at HEC Paris
- Photo authorization agreement
- Sports authorization agreement.
Payment of the 30€ fee per intake application occurs by credit card at the time of the online application. If you apply to more than one intake, you will be asked to pay 30€ for each intake application. Application fees are non-refundable.
Students attending HEC Paris partner institutions are exempt from the application fee.
Full payment is required approximately 2 1/2 weeks after receiving an offer of admission. In the case of a late application, a shorter time period may apply.

Payment occurs online by credit card. Wire transfers can also be accepted.
A participant has fourteen (14) days from the day of admission to withdraw from the program. In such a case, HEC Paris will reimburse all sums paid to HEC Paris in the course of the agreement, unless the withdrawal request is received on or after the start of the Program.
A participant may cancel, at any time after the withdrawal period, his/her participation in the Program. However, and notwithstanding duly recognized cases of force majeure, HEC Paris shall apply the following cancellation fee:

Less than 45 calendar days
Any request to withdraw or cancel a participant’s registration must be sent by registered mail with delivery confirmation request to the attention of Ms. Elyse Michaels-Berger, including bank details for reimbursement, to the following address:

Detailed schedules will be provided upon arrival to campus.
Students should plan to reserve 9 am to 5 pm daily for program work, and to anticipate evening work as part of class preparation. Students attending the Luxury Management course will have the opportunity to visit Paris as part of their program.
No classes will be held on weekends.
All students should plan to arrive on campus on the first Monday morning for check-in. The program will begin on the first Monday afternoon.
Please plan all return travel after 7 pm on the last Friday or as of the Saturday morning following the program close. Students who are not present for the final exam or final student presentations will not earn credit.
100% participation (other than justified absences) is mandatory to obtain the Summer Certificate of Attendance and HEC Paris course transcript.
Recommended textbooks are at students’ charge and made available at the HEC Bookstore. Class material such as case studies will be available through the HEC intranet on academic platforms.
At the end of most programs, students will present final team presentations. Students in International Finance should expect a final exam.
All final student presentations and exams are mandatory. Without full attendance in the program and participation in the final presentation or exam, neither a certificate, nor a grade, will be awarded.
Students who successfully complete the 2017 HEC Paris Summer School Program will obtain a course transcript for the equivalent of 7 ECTS. For credit transfer, students should verify with home institutions that credit earned will be applicable.
Summer School students earn an HEC Paris Certificate.
An electronic copy of transcripts will be made available to students by September.
Students are required to bring a laptop computer.
All summer school students will be issued a student card and will have full access to the HEC Learning Center.
All HEC Summer School students will have access to the fitness room and gymnasium as well as tennis courts, football fields, indoor and outdoor basketball courts. All students are required to provide a medical certificate authorizing sports activity. Tennis rackets and tennis balls are not provided; please plan to bring these with you.
HEC Paris has an on campus student restaurant, several cafeterias and bars where you can find a selection of food and drinks.
Learning occurs both inside and outside of the classroom. An important component of the HEC Paris Summer School is teamwork that will take place after classroom hours. To fully benefit from your academic experience and HEC Paris campus life, all summer students are encouraged, although not required, to reside on-campus, which is located approximately 50 minutes outside of Paris.
All international students are expected to verify requirements with their local French consulate and plan accordingly.
All students who request a visa letter will be provided one. Please note this letter is not provided automatically, but rather upon student request.
Yes, students are required to show proof of insurance for the duration of their stay at HEC Paris. Insurance should include medical coverage, civil coverage as well as repatriation liability.
The HEC Residence provides you with sheets for the duration of your stay. Rooms will be cleaned daily. Soap, shampoo and toothpaste are the responsibility of each student. Note that rooms do not include irons or hair dryers. Please plan accordingly.
Check-in at the Residence occurs Monday morning of your program start from 9am to 12pm. The team will be present to welcome you then.
Check-out is requested by 10 am on the Saturday following your program close. If you are attending more than one consecutive summer school program, there is no need to check-out between programs. You may however be asked to switch rooms between periods.
The HEC Paris campus is located just outside of Paris in Jouy-en-Josas and accessible both from major airports (Orly and Roissy) and from center Paris.
As a summer school student, you are expected to organize your own transportation to and from campus. Please consult the Campus Access page for full details.
