Alstom: Intervention by government is all ‘noise’

The future of Alstom is set to be decided in a bidding war between Siemens and General Electric, French Ministers are trying to assert control over its fate. However, analysts including HEC Paris Associate Professor Tomasz Michalski, claim that this is fruitless: “If you look at the cooler heads in the government, even François Hollande, who has been very pragmatic, they understand there is a recurring problem with Alstom, because it has suffered from the economic conditions."
