Overseas education breeds innovation

The need for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Emirate States is increasing as cities such as Dubai are attracting more international top executives rather than national ones. Bernard Garrette, Associate Dean of HEC Paris MBA says that for an Emirate State, rich in oil and gas, it is easier and makes more sense for a national to “exploit” and enter straight into the oil industry rather than “explore” and create a new industry, such as one for education. The need for investment into education and training in the Emirate States is growing as companies want to internalize executive positions with nationals who speak Arabic, rather than Europeans who, at the moment, run them.
