Shoppers drawn ‘straight down the middle’

Selin Atalay, HEC Paris Assistant Professor in marketing, alongside researchers from Aston Business School, have found that consumers are more likely to be drawn to a product that is placed in the centre of a display. HEC Researchers found that shoppers increase their visual focus on the central option of the display in the final five seconds prior to making a decision and this determines which option they would choose.
