Car-sharing rental system comes to HEC Campus!

4 October 2010

Following the launch of Quivaou car-share in February 2010, HEC Paris students and staff can now take advantage of a new transport option on the HEC Campus: the car-sharing rental system offered by Key’Lib.

The car-sharing rental system is a new efficient way of using a car without having to buy one and without having to deal with the inconveniences of ownership.

Members have free, 24hr, access to a range of vehicles which can be reserved in advance online and then hired out with a personal card. The vehicles are to be returned to the service car park (departure point) at the end of the reserved time-slot and the reservation closed with the card. The account will then be charged according to the journey time and distance in kilometers.

The car-sharing offer has been designed to be accessible to a large number of staff and students. There is no deposit or guarantee required to use the service nor is there a set time limit (as there is an hourly rate of 2€). The Key’Lib car-share service is adaptable to suit every individual transport requirement!

The initiative reinforces HEC Paris’ social commitment and with environmental politics in mind, particular attention is paid to managing the direct and indirect campus environmental impacts. Estimates suggest that a single car in car share could take 8 to 15 cars off the road.
