Conference « Digital 4 Change » with Muhammad Yunus

17 December 2010

Thursday, December 9, despite the snow and the cancellation of the shuttles, Digital4Change conference was held in the hall of honour in HEC campus. The speakers were completely and obviously pleased with this meeting. Upon his arrival, Professor Yunus (Grameen Bank, Nobel Peace Prize 2006), who was very expected by students, visited the alley "Démozone" the interactive demonstration area. Very attentive to each exhibitor, Professor Yunus was able to meet the creators of Chèques Solidaires, makesense.org, Babyloan, Un Jour A Vendre, Yoocasa, Babeldoor and many others.

During their entrance into the hall of honor, stakeholders were able to appreciate the extent of interest in their innovations, their commitments, though a room already conquered with more than 800 attendants. For nearly two hours, Professor Yunus, Martin Hirsch (Civic Service), Mitchell Baker (Mozilla World), Walter de Brouwer (One Laptop Per Child-Europe), Matt Flannery (founder of Kiva.org) Florence Devouard (independent consultant and former board member of Wikimedia), Joe Green (co-founder of Causes), each in their own way, boosted the hearing on campus and one that, online, passionately followed their discussions on the power of networks and opened innovation (or open source).

More than 1000 tweets exchanged this evening and, 1500 to 2000 persons following the conference live on the web, testify to the great interest of the online participants.

Conference is still online >
