International Economic Symposium: "EU-Japan, New Strategic Partnership for Future"

Amidst Europe and Japan’s active preparation for a new Strategic Partnership Agreement and a Free Trade Agreement, an International Symposium was held in Josui Kaikan, Japan, on February 27th 2014 on the theme of: "EU-Japan: New Strategic Partnership for Future". This meeting was organised in conjunction with the EU Studies Institute (EUSI) in Tokyo, Crédit Agricole CIB, Hitotsubashi University and the European Business Council, and was a chance to go over the issues and opportunities which Japan and the Europe share in detail.

In the company of Bernard Ramanantsoa, the Dean of HEC Paris, and Susumu Yamauchi, Principal of Hitotsubashi University, this Symposium was designed to discover political, economic and strategic issues of UE-Japan relationship, thanks to the input from Dr Albrecht Rothacher, Minister-Counsellor at the EU delegation in Tokyo; Sahoko Kaji, Professor at Keio University and Jesper Edman from Hitotsubashi ICS.
The evening was then followed by a debate led by Professor Hideki Hayashi, Chief Researcher at EUSI and Vincent Thebault, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole Securities, Asia.
