Jean Paul Larçon receives the Doctorate Honoris Causa of the Warsaw University of Technology

On October 23rd and 24th, Warsaw University of Technology Business School celebrate its 20th anniversary. To mark the anniversary, Warsaw University of Technology granted the Doctor Honoris Causa to Prof. Jean-Paul Larçon, co-founder of the School and chairman of the School's Council (2002-2012), and bestowed the distinction of honorary professorships on Rolf Brunstad (Economics – NHH), Eric Cornuel (Strategy – HEC Paris), Krzysztof Jajuga (Finance - Warsaw University of Technology) and Alastair Nicholson (Marketing – LBS and Oxford University).

Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris, has granted the HEC Distinguished Faculty Award to the three principal contributors to the School’s founding and development, Prof. Roger Bivand, Dr. Zbignew Turowski and Prof. Witold Orlowski - Poland’s leading economist and advisor to the government, who is also the School’s director. Under the leadership of W. Orlowski the School is pursuing its ambition to be the number one graduate school of management in Central Europe and among the top 15 in Europe.

The WUT Business School was originally established in 1991 as the result of a joint initiative by Warsaw University of Technology, London Business School, HEC School of Management Paris and the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. All of these schools are well renowned for their excellence and continuous educational development since the beginning of its existence. In a very short period of time, Warsaw University of Technology Business School has taken its place among the leading business schools in Europe and has developed the capacity to meet the needs of the Polish business community. HEC Paris is proud to be a part of this unique venture and is planning more integrated co-operation in the future with its Polish sister institution in the field of research and all kinds of management education.
