Launch of the e-business Chair “Digital Innovation for Business” at HEC Paris

HEC Paris is pleased to announce the launch of the “Digital Innovation for Business” Chair with the support of 5 leading online entrepreneurs: Jacques-Antoine Granjon, Founder and CEO of; Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet (private donor), co-founder of PriceMinister and French fund ISAI; Xavier Niel, Founder and main shareholder of Free; Steve Rosenblum, Founder and CEO of; Marc Simoncini, Founder and CEO of Meetic. President of the HEC Foundation, Daniel Bernard and Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris, were also present at the launch.

For Bernard Ramanantsoa: “The creation of an e-business Chair directed towards innovation, demonstrates HEC Paris’ ambition to train future managers and entrepreneurs in the digital economy. What better support than the five leading online entrepreneurs in France who have chosen to stand alongside our school in this project. The motto for the Chair “To innovate and engage”, could certainly apply to the whole of HEC Paris.

This Chair has been designed to offer HEC students in their final year (including students from the Masters, Specialized Masters and MBA programs) the opportunity to receive additional training in e-business. Starting this year, the “Digital Innovation for Business Certificate” program will run from mid April until the end of June with over one-hundred hours of classes, conferences, case studies and group work. This Certificate will focus on how to “innovate and engage in the digital economy”, with the active involvement of the five partner entrepreneurs and their companies.

The Chair has been created by HEC Paris in line with its engagement in entrepreneurship and e-business: other initiatives include electives in the first and second years of the MSc program, specialization in the final year (major/specialized master in Management and New Technologies), the creation of the HEC Paris Start-up Incubator, etc.

The “Digital Innovation for Business” Chair is managed by Julien Lévy (Master in Philosophy and Sociology, Institut de Sciences Politiques de Paris, HEC, Ph.D. in Management). He is an Affiliate Professor at HEC Paris and the Director of the Master in Digital Business Management. He is also co-author of Mercator , the French best-selling handbook in marketing (8th edition in 2006), translated in several languages.
