The HEC Digital Transformation Center is a place to consider, discuss and collaborate on digital transformation in France, a strategic priority for Orange. The partnership enables the group to engage in dialogue with other businesses on digital transformation and leverage HEC students to analyze—and improve—their current progress.

One of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, Orange now benefits from France’s leading business school to help recruit talent, stimulate internal innovation, collaborate and grow.

Recruitment and talent management

Through its Digital Transformation Center programs, HEC addresses the challenges of digital transformation, and brings together businesses and students to work directly on such issues. The collaborative projects between students and Orange allow the group to attract candidates and identify potential recruits.

Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris, comments: “We are delighted with this new partnership with Orange, a sign of the will of HEC Paris to train future managers and entrepreneurs to drive digital business transformation and innovation.”

Stimulating internal innovation

‘Digital natives’ are an important source of internal innovation for companies, by proposing and effecting change. This collaboration presents an opportunity for Orange to push work through its pipeline, and stimulate the internal creativity needed to advance its digital transformation.

Collaboration and growth

Orange to show that big business is able and willing to adapt to the rise of digital. One of the five main drivers in Orange Group’s strategic plan, ‘Essentials2020’, is to build ‘a people-oriented and digital employer model’.

Bruno Mettling, Deputy Director of Human Resources at Orange Group, notes: “The HEC Digital Transformation Center offers us great opportunities to nourish our vision of digital transformation at Orange. All initiatives that will help us to address this strategic priority are welcome, especially as HEC is a pioneer in the fields of e-business and e-customer relationship.”

Bertrand Léonard, President of the HEC Foundation, adds: “Orange’s contribution will enable the HEC Digital Transformation Center to develop knowledge and innovative pedagogy. The HEC Foundation fully supports the school in becoming a major player in this strategic theme.”

With this initiative, Orange, who has sponsored the Innovation Management and Globalization Chair since 2012, joins AXA in the HEC Digital Transformation Center.
