The HEC/Ticket for Change MOOC has generated strong results, with 700 innovative social business models designed by hundreds of highly-engaged participants. It combined HEC’s expertise in entrepreneurship and social innovation with the collective experience of the participants in Ticket for Change’s ‘Tour de France’.

The aim of the MOOC, developed on the Coursera platform, was to encourage entrepreneurship as a vocation, and instill a dynamic commitment to social solidarity.

Over seven weeks of intensive courses, the participants benefitted from the advice of social entrepreneurship pioneers including Nobel laureate Professor Muhamad Yunus and Antonio Meloto, founder of Gawad Kalinga.

A seven-week adventure

Ticket for Change helped 19,000 people from 160 countries to take their first steps as entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs of change. Amidst a demanding schedule, over 2,000 participants completed all the modules.

Completion rate three times higher than average

At the end of the course, 1,361 participants were certified, representing 9% of those registered, well above the average completion rate of 2-3%.

In addition, more than 80 face-to-face sessions were organized around the MOOC, bringing together more than 2,000 people.
