Women's rights placed at the forefront of the 7th edition of the "Campus de la Solidarité"

6 March 2012

On 6th March 2012, just a few days before International Women's Day, HEC Paris is to host the annual gala of the "Campus de la Solidarité."

The evening will begin with a conference on the topic of "Women's rights: a social and humanitarian commitment," in the presence of Eric Molinié (HEC alumnus, 1982) and Aude de Thuin, founder of the Women's Forum. The President of UNICEF, Jacques Hintzy (HEC alumnus, 1958), will then give a brief speech, in between the cocktails and the HEC Yvelines Awards Ceremony for the winning associations. This 7th edition will be brought to a close with a 100% fair trade fashion show.

The actions led by the numerous associations for humanitarian and social vocations on the campus are fully supported by the School in its wider goal to integrate social issues into the students' education. These associations propose several forms of involvement, whether it's supporting schools in Benin, accompanying sick children, promoting fair trade and equality, working in prisons, helping the handicapped, micro crediting in Vietnam, taking part in telethons, embarking on educational missions in Cambodia, developing infrastructures in Peru or fundraising for Nepal.

On 8th February this year, the association "Rêve d'enfance" (Childhood dreams) was rewarded during the "Natixis C.A.M.P.U.S. Awards 2012", demonstrating the vitality of association life and the quality of the projects undertaken.
