HEC Paris and Atos: Winners of 2013 EFMD Excellence in Practice Award

9 September 2013

HEC Paris and Atos have won first prize in the 2013 EFMD Excellence in Practice Award, in the “Development of Talents” category. This award recognizes outstanding case studies describing an effective and impactful Leadership and Development initiative between a company and a Business School. Christine Baldy Ngayo (HEC Paris), Valerie Caillaud (Atos) and the associated teams, Corey Phelps, Karine Le Joly, Ann Dushane (HEC Paris) as well as Marc Meyer, Robin Ajdari and Hervé Scemama (Atos), are awarded for the program "Developing Atos Future Leaders: GOLD, a Tailor-made Curriculum" (Executive Summary). The award ceremony will take place in Sweden, at the Stockholm School of Economics IFL Executive Education on 10 October 2013 during the EFMD's Executive Development Conference.

"I would like to warmly congratulate HEC Paris & Atos for their outstanding case. Providing an environment that helps to engage and develop people, and enhances skills is an essential component for any company and this case clearly shows that investing in people is not a luxury; it is a top priority," says Dr. Richard Straub, Director of Corporate Services at EFMD.

The 2013 international judging panel, composed of representatives from EFMD, companies and business schools rewarded the Gold Curriculum based on a strong articulation of the business challenge with a clear business need and objectives established to address them. The very well-structured and thought through program has been integrated into Atos’s talent strategy with carefully selected potentials participating and clear career progress indicators that show its impact. It is based on a long-term partnership between Atos and HEC and shows good evidence of stakeholder commitment and input. “Investing in people is a key strategic asset for business success. Working with HEC Paris to develop our talents has been extremely valuable,” underlines Danielle Lagarde, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Atos. Executive leadership development programs are one of many examples of business schools and the corporate world working together closely. Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris adds: “Corporations gain through superior training, in many cases tailored to their specific needs, while the business schools gain through insight into the challenges faced by the business community. It’s a win-win situation and I am delighted that EFMD has recognized the long-lasting partnership between HEC Paris and Atos”.
