HEC-Tsinghua research project on "中国跨国企业研究" - China Machinery Press HZ, Beijing 2009

 

HEC Paris and Tsinghua SEM in China have joined forces to conduct an in-depth investigation about the internationalization of Chinese companies over the last twenty years. The HEC-Tsinghua research project on “Chinese Multinationals” was carried out by twelve experts from both schools. Data were collected in China and in Europe from twenty leading Chinese companies operating in a variety of economic sectors.

Professor Qian Yingyi, Dean Tsinghua School of Economics and Professor Jean-Paul Larçon, Senior Associate Dean HEC Paris presented the results of this research at the “HEC Day at Tsinghua”.

The book « 中国跨国企业研究 = Chinese Multinationals », just published in September 2009 by 机械工业出版China Machine Press, 华章经管 Huazhang, Beijing, examines in detail the extraordinary saga of Chinese well known national and international champions

Chinese Multinationals, which is the product of cooperation between HEC Paris and the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, discusses the internationalization strategies of Chinese enterprises in the last twenty years, during which the Chinese economy has been experiencing rapid growth. The book analyzed the international strategies of Chinese Multinationals comprehensively and systematically, including international marketing and branding, overseas M & A, international joint ventures, cross border technical management, cross border organization and human resources management, etc., which help us understand how Chinese companies are using their domestic successes to accelerate their development and enhance their access to new markets or new technologies. Especially in times of more challenged growth and increased pressure on resources, no globalization strategy can durably succeed if your own domestic market is not truly open.
