March SnO Monthly Meeting

AGENDA

Next week, on March10th, during our SnO meeting from 12:00 to 2 pm in room T201, we will:

1) gather your reactions on our current projects (Medici Summer School, SnO Research Day, Executive Education, Conference on Finance...)

2) welcome a presentation by Kangsan Lee, from Northwestern University, currently visiting at ScPo

"How does success cross boundaries between local and global markets? - Status devices and Status mobility between markets"

This project tries to answer how success travels between markets. Examining what constitutes the status mobility between markets that results in differing success patterns among producers, this project also shows how status positions are evolving through different markets. To restate the questions, “Why do multiple markets value an individual or organization differently? And why some individuals or organizations can bring their success from one market to the other, while others cannot in global markets?” The recent expansion of contemporary art markets and rise of Asian art markets will provide a unique chance to observe the markets integration between local and global and inter-market status dynamics.
