The challenge of scaling up: conversation with 4 entrepreneurs from the Philippines
Camille Meloto, Fabien Courteille and Louis Faure will be together with Antonio Meloto, in what promises to be an inspiring evening.
Antonio Meloto is CEO and founder of Gawad Kalinga (GK), a humanitarian organization whose fight is to eradicate poverty in the Philippines. Their philosophy is one of building empowered, united communities to ensure long-term, sustainable development. Their work is recognized worldwide, and ‘Tito Tony’ has won numerous international awards including the 2012 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, and the 2012 Entrepreneur for the World Award at the World Entrepreneurship Forum in Lyon.
In 2010, GK launched the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) to serve as an incubator for young social entrepreneurs in the Philippines, inspiring local and international businesses to create jobs.
To date, GK-CSI has incubated several successful social enterprises. Among them, Human Nature where Camille Meloto is R&D and Marketing director (company specializing in organic cosmetics, no. 1 in the industry in the Philippines for six years); Plush& Play founded by Fabien Courteille (entreprise making plush toys), and a brand new poultry farm launched by an HEC student Louis Faure at GK Enchanted farm.
