On the 8th December 2006, the HEC European Institute, chaired by Noëlle Lenoir, welcomed M. José Manuel BARROSO to the HEC campus at Jouy-en-Josas.

The President of the European Commission came to the campus for the first time as part of the “Rencontres de l’Europe” (“European Interchanges”) and engaged with the students of the association HEC Débats, addressing current European issues.

Following this exceptional meeting-debate, a ceremony during which José Manuel Barroso was awarded the HEC Honorary Diploma took placellowing this.
