The founding of a Chair has 3 objectives:
- Develop special courses related to the theme of the Chair. The Case studies can be discussed in the classroom.
- Deepen the knowledge on a particular issue of concern to the company. The Professor awarded the Chair publishes under the name of HEC and the company.
- Create opportunities for knowledge exchange between the company and other business actors in the same field.
Founding a Chair allows for close cooperation between the company and HEC School of Management. Both parties undertake the long-term development of research and teaching excellence around a commonly-defined theme.
A Chair means benefiting from the excellence of a Senior Professor in his or her field and providing the context and means for him or her to persue research work.
Financing a chair
Permanent Chair: the company makes a single capital endowment of € 1,525,000.
Renewable Annual Chair: the endowment of the company comes to € 250,000 per year over a renewable 5 year period.
The Chair gives the company maximum visibility with students of the academic community and with people in the business world.
Any company which founds a Chair is automatically granted membership of the HEC Foundation.
