HEC is launching its part-time MBA in September 2007 in response to demand for greater flexibility from candidates and their employers. Many individuals who are ready for top management roles are at a stage in life where their personal and financial responsibilities make it difficult for them to embark on a full-time MBA. Meanwhile, companies face the challenge of retaining high-potential staff who require real opportunities for professional development. The introduction of a part-time MBA solves these problems by allowing talented individuals to obtain a top-quality business education without interrupting their career.
The part-time MBA versus the Executive MBA
While the existing Executive MBA program is aimed at managers with an average of 10 years' work experience, the part-time MBA targets a younger generation of high-flyers, who are generally 25 to 35 years old with an average of 5 years' work experience. The content and approach are similar to that of the full-time MBA but are optimized to suit a part-time study schedule.
To facilitate the work-life-MBA balance for candidates from diverse backgrounds, HEC has developed two programs which will be launched in parallel. The 24-month option begins with 3.5 months of full-time study, equivalent to one term of the full-time course. This will allow part-time MBAs to benefit from the international dimension and networking opportunities offered by the full-time program. The rest of the course will adopt the same flexible, modular structure as the 36-month option, which is built around convenient weekend and/or evening classes.
Quality guarantee
As with our full-time MBA program, teaching will be provided by our world-class faculty and by visiting professors. Candidates will reap the benefits of following a well-established, high-quality course of study while the new format of evening and weekend classes will also add a new degree of flexibility for full-time MBA students.
By expanding our portfolio of high-quality business education, HEC continues to offer new opportunities to French and international MBA candidates with the ambition to develop through lifelong learning.
