Executive Education:
a world of progress

In 1968, just four years after moving to the Jouy-en-Josas campus, HEC launched a new approach to executive education. Today, HEC is a world leader in this sector: 25,000 managers and executives from over 60 countries have participated in its programs in the last three years.

Bertrand Moingeon, Deputy Dean of HEC in charge of Executive Education and Academic Development, has been a keen observer and actor in recent changes that have occurred in this area. "In the past ten years, our revenues have increased by a factor of eight. I mention this only to illustrate how successful HEC has been in addressing the needs of executives and managers through its innovative and high quality programs."

Open enrolment, custom and degree programs
Initially, the focus was on open enrolment programs but, in 1988, the decision was made to introduce custom programs tailored to specific business needs. HEC is now renowned for the quality and range of its customized offering and is ranked N°3 in the world on this criteria by the Financial Times.

The school has also developed world-beating expertise in degree programs for executives. In addition to the highly-regarded HEC Executive MBA and our seven Specialized Executive Masters degrees, we created the ground-breaking TRIUM Global EMBA in partnership with New York University and the London School of Economics. TRIUM is now ranked N°2 in the world by the Financial Times. The HEC EMBA was recently introduced to China and will soon be launched in Russia.

As Professor Moingeon notes, HEC is "the only institution – in any discipline – that has been authorized to award degrees in China without an existing partnership with a local institution. We are currently training 150 of the country's leading executives and hope to develop new programs in the future, notably with Tsinghua University."

On the road to further growth
HEC is also completing its offer of short programs in English and exploring further synergies with other leading international institutions. "Generally speaking," explains Professor Moingeon, "we want to leverage the enormous expertise of our executive education staff vis-à-vis the corporate world, develop even closer ties between teaching and research, and investigate opportunities for co-creating content with partner companies. Forty years after HEC launched its ExEd programs, this dynamic sector continues to offer unparalleled opportunities for growth and international development."
