Governance and management of family businesses
Governance and management of family businesses
ANTICIPATE AND MEET THE CHALLENGES OF THE FUTURE
Family businesses face specific challenges, but in times of crisis, they are often stronger and achieve better results than other organizations. A pronounced entrepreneurial dynamism combined with a patrimonial prudence contributes to their success. However, only one-third of these businesses survive the second generation. To avoid this situation, shared governance between the family and the board of management plays an essential role in facilitating the transition from one generation to the next.
The speed of decision making is the essence of good governance.–
