Biography

Jean-Marc de Leersnyder holds an Msc. degree from HEC Paris and a Ph.D. in Political Science and an advanced degree from the French Institute for National Defense Studies. He is SFR-HEC Chair Professor of Marketing. He has been a Visiting professor at several universities and business schools worldwide (China, Japan, Belgium, Austria, Poland). He regularly also teaches in the French War Academy.

His fields of research are international marketing, international business, geopolitics, and European issues.

Jean-Marc de Leersnyder has had a long career both in teaching and management at HEC. His career includes the positions of Head of the MSc (Grande Ecole) program, Associate Dean for international Affairs, and Associate Dean of the HEC Executive MBA. Since 2009 he is Associate Dean, special advisor to the Dean of HEC.

He is an active member of numerous prestigious peer review boards for accreditation of European and non-European Business schools including AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS and served as Vice President of CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) and President of PIM.

He published several books on International Business, International marketing and European issues and wrote many articles in specialized journals on international and geopolitical issues.

He has obtained the following distinctions: Chevalier dans l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur, Chevalier dans l'Ordre National du Mérite (French National order of Merit), Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (French National Order of Arts), Officer of the National Order of Merit of Germany.
