Biography

Oana Stefan holds a law degree from University of Bucharest, a Maîtrise en Droit from University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and a MAES from the College of Europe. She has finalizing her Ph.D. at University College Dublin.

Her research combines socio-legal and doctrinal analysis, quantitative and qualitative methods. It explores the limits of the rule of law, and it focuses on questions related to regulatory governance and judicial politics. She concentrates at the moment on European Union law, in particular competition and state aid, soft law and the Open Method of Coordination, constitutional and administrative law.

She has published in the European Law Journal and with Oxford University Press. Oana has taught law to students coming from a variety of academic backgrounds: lawyers, economists, sociologists, linguists, etc. She has delivered lectures and seminars on constitutional and material aspects of European Union law, competition and state aid law, introduction to the common and civil law, and methodology of research in the framework of the undergraduate curricula of University College Dublin and at the postgraduate level at the College of Europe and Dublin European Institute. Before joining HEC, Oana worked as an advisor for European integration of the Romanian Minister of Justice, as an academic assistant for the College of Europe and as a tutor at University College Dublin.
