HEC Paris and Dow Jones Global Ranking 2022 Reveals a Stronger Presence of European PE Firms

HEC Paris Business School and Dow Jones have released the new annual Large Buyout Performance Ranking, compiled by Professor Oliver Gottschalg of the HEC Strategy and Business Policy Department. The ranking shows the top 20 private equity firms based on all buyout funds raised between 2009 and 2018.

The ranking reveals that the top three companies in the Top 20 global firms are TA Associates, followed by Veritas Capital and Francisco Partners.

The ranking also shows an increase in the number of European firms in the Top 10 and the rise of Waterland Private Equity Investments from 14th to 4th place. Other firms making the Global Top 20 include Vitruvian Partners and Permira, both based in London, and Astorg, based in France.
