OVRSEA joins Bolloré Group

Bolloré Group acquires a majority stake in the digital freight forwarder OVRSEA, a startup launched 3 years ago by three HEC Paris alumni within the X-HEC Startup Launchpad.

Ovrsea

"It's a major achievement" explained Arthur Barillas, co-founder of Ovrsea when announcing that Bolloré Logistics was taking a majority stake in the startup.

This merger will enable OVRSEA to open up to new markets, thanks to Bolloré Logistics’ experience and its network of worldwide locations, while maintaining its philosophy, management and staff.

For its part, Bolloré Logistics will be able to broaden its range of services and offer a 100% digital experience to its customers thanks to next-generation technologies.

Ovrsea, was launched 3 years ago by three HEC Alumni from the Digital Major Arthur Barillas, Mathieu Mattei and Brieuc André, a team completed by 2 other co-founders Georges Semaan and Antoine Sauvage, who followed the acceleration program of the X-HEC-42 Startup Launchpad, then developed the solution during 2 years in the Incubateur HEC Paris, at Station F.

"We envisioned a company that would redefine our industry and become a leader in freight transportation and supply chain solutions. "

OVRSEA is a French digital freight forwarder that simplifies and optimizes international transport for companies. The startup coordinates all operations and digitalizes processes thanks to a unique and innovative management platform: from quotation to invoicing, and providing real-time tracking of goods.

Guillaume Le Dieu De Ville

"The Ovrsea team has always been able to question my beliefs. I can still see myself explaining to them during the launchpad that being 5 co-founders would be a source of discord. It was without counting on their complementarity and the quality of their execution. Today they continue the adventure alongside Bolloré with a worldwide ambition.... and I have no doubt about their future success" explains Guillaume Le Dieu de Ville, Director of the X-HEC-42 Startup Launchpad program.

OVRSEA has more than 40 employees, is present in 60 countries and works with more than 500 clients including Devialet, Nuxe or Yves Rocher.

By the end of the year, they intend to recruit more than 50 people across 15 positions (sales, product, sales operations, operations, development, finance, administration); to penetrate new markets in Europe, North America and Asia; to move into new offices (more than 700m2 near Montmartre).

The architects of the startup's success remain more committed than ever to writing this new chapter as the company plans to double its workforce by the end of the year, and, by 2025, OVRSEA aims at reaching a turnover of 200 million euros.
