HEC Paris Welcomes New Professors
The first week of September saw seven new faculty members join HEC Paris from around the world. Having trained in some of the most renowned Ph.D programs and business schools, including LBS, Carnegie Mellon University, Tilburg University and INSEAD, the new members of the faculty reflect the diversity of thought and culture, the open-mindedness and the rigorous intellectual standards promoted here at HEC Paris.
D-TEA Conference 2015 : the Best of Research in Decisions Making and Finance
On May 27th-29th 2015, HEC Paris in partnership with the AXA Research Fund organized the 7th edition of its D-TEA (Decision: Theory, Experiments, and Applications) conference. The event took place in Paris 8 at AXA GIE. It brought together distinguished scholars from a range of disciplines to give an overview of the recent research in decision science, especially as applied to finance and economics.
Itzhak Gilboa receives 2014 Best Researcher prize for his work in decision science
The 2014 edition of the HEC Foundation awards was held on 15 December 2014 in the presence of Guillaume Poitrinal, president of the HEC Foundation, and Bernard Ramantsoa, director of HEC Paris. In their 38th year, the awards highlighted excellence in management science and rewarded value creators. Congratulations to the nominees and winners for the academic rigor of their analysis, as well as the relevance of their achievements to the business world.
HEC Paris Welcomes New Professors
For the 2014-2015 intake, 15 new faculty members have joined HEC Paris. Trained in the best Ph.D programs, they come from different countries, and prestigious business schools (MIT, Wharton, McGill, Bocconi, etc…). This reflects the diversity of thought and culture, the open-mindedness and the rigorous intellectual standards promoted at HEC Paris. These new professors further enhance our courses and programs through their outstanding research work, in depth knowledge of management issues and original teaching materials. They also contribute to the progress of management practice through their interaction with the business world.
1.618 Sustainable Luxury: Sustainable Development Is a Must-Have For Luxury Brands
The fourth edition of the 1.618 Sustainable Luxury Fair, an annual meeting place for key players in luxury development, took place in Paris from 4th – 6th April 2014, in partnership with HEC Paris as part of Sustainable Development Week. At the end of the round table, led by HEC Paris professors Anne Michaut and Jean-Noël Kapferer, the HEC Paris and 1.618 Sustainable Luxury Prize was awarded to shipbuilder Supiore, and the ‘Coup-de-coeur’ special prize was given to oyster-farmer Tarbouriech.
A New AXA - HEC Paris Chair: Gaining Expertise on Issues of Digital Transformation and Big Data
AXA and HEC Paris have created a teaching Chair, "Digital Strategy and Big Data", which was inaugurated 17th March 2014. The inauguration took place in the AXA Global Direct buildings with AXA’s CEO, Henri de Castries, in attendance. The aim of this new Chair is to develop courses on the issues of digital innovation and Big Data in large companies.

Itzhak Gilboa, Professor of Economics and Decision Science at HEC Paris, talks about theory and intuition to give us some keys to controlling uncertainty.
