HEC Paris Surpasses its First Fundraising Campaign Goals

28 November 2013

On 19th November, the HEC Foundation brought together nearly five hundred donators in the majestic setting of the City of architecture and heritage to mark the end of the HEC Foundation’s fundraising campaign, which started in 2008. Daniel Bernard, President of the foundation, thanked the HEC Community for this unprecedented success and spoke of the school’s achievements in terms of academic excellence, international development and social outreach.

Thanks to this campaign, the HEC Foundation now contributes to 8% of the school’s development budget whilst maintaining an endowment, like most international business schools.
These funds have also allowed HEC Paris to fully engage in its key priority areas.  HEC has put in place and implemented a policy to improve equal opportunities (20% of HEC students hold scholarships). Another portion of the funds has also allowed the school to attract the best research-professors in the world, and fuel its research excellence. Several teaching innovations have stemmed out of this research, such as the Alternative Management Major, the Digital Business Center, the Social Business Certificate and the Incubator. Teaching and Research Chairs dedicated to current issues have also been inaugurated: Google@hec, Digital Innovation for Business, Leadership, Innovation Management and Globalization, or New Business Models in the Energy Industries...
Such tremendous and historic support is undeniably both a vote of confidence and a boost of ambition for HEC Paris, its faculty and students alike.

Bilan inédit en France pour la 1ère campagne de levée de fonds de la Fondation HEC 2013 - HEC Paris

Daniel Bernard, President of the HEC Foundation, said: "Our ambition first and foremost is to reinforce the excellence of HEC Paris on a global scale and to open the school to all talents through financial support. This fundraising campaign would not have been possible without the unfailing support of alumni and companies, and without the tireless dedication of the professional team who led the campaign."
For Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris, "By involving alumni and partner companies in our school’s projects, this campaign has given HEC the means to fulfil its ambitions on the international scene. It will help HEC look to the future whilst remaining faithful to the human values it defends."
