HEC Paris welcomes New Professors

In September, five new faculty members have joined HEC Paris and aim to bring new ways of thinking. What can students expect? Innovative ideas and challenges to the status quo.

HEC Paris new professors: Yin Yan, L. J. Shrum, Tina M. Lowrey, Daniel Schmidt, Isabel Habicht - HEC Paris 2013

Assistant Professor Daniel Schmidt, who has used Google searches on sport news to examine the effects of investors’ distraction in the stock market, will instruct HEC students in the Grand Ecole program within elementary Finance. Professor Yan Yin will teach the best practices of supply chain management, sourcing and procurement strategies, and auctions and mechanism design. Professor Tina M. Lowrey, who has demonstrated how children use brands to create assumptions about one another and adults, and Professor L. J. Shrum, whose research applies social cognition concepts to understand the determinants of consumer judgments, will offer their talents to Marketing students. Finally, Professor Isabel Habicht will teach German through beautiful Goethe poetry.
