HEC Paris to host the 24th MBA Sports Tournament

Informally dubbed the MBA Olympics, MBAT is the largest inter-MBA sporting event for the world's top business schools. HEC Paris MBA students have started gearing up for 2 days of tournament madness and the arrival of business students on the HEC Paris in Jouy-en-Josas.

Last year, more than 1,200 students, including Harvard Business School, London Business School, Oxford Said, IE, IESE and INSEAD, took part in the competition. Students can participate in 24 different sporting events such as Badminton, Cricket, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Karting, Poker, Salsa, Rugby, and Tennis. This year, HEC Paris will be defending its championship MBAT title.

Through the MBAT, students exercise skills that are essential to succeed in business; teamwork and leadership. Just as the MBA is a once in a life experience, and so too is the opportunity to participate in the MBAT,” said Bernard Garrette, Associate Dean, HEC Paris MBA.

HEC Paris MBAT is also pleased to announce sponsorship of the tournament by Decathlon. the world’s biggest sports retailer. TransferWise, enables people to transfer money around the world is also a new partner of HEC Paris MBAT this year.

Katrina Senn, Desmond Chin and Axel Tasciyan, are Co-Presidents for HEC Paris MBAT and are leading the student body in organizing the games this year. “MBAT is great opportunity to meet the future movers and shakers of industry from all over the world. But more than that, it is a great experience to work closely with fellow classmates at HEC,” said Axel Tasciyan. “All HEC MBA gets involved in the event. More than 200 MBA students work together every year to manage every aspect of the MBAT from marketing, sponsorship, and logistics to university relations, event planning and sports,” added Katrina Senn. “It is always a huge success and the most unforgettable experience in our MBA curriculum,” highlighted Desmond Chin.


About the MBAT

The MBA Tournament, or MBAT, is an annual sporting event for MBA students, which brings together top-ranked MBA’s from around the world. Organized by HEC Paris, one of the top business schools in Europe, the tournament is Europe’s largest annual gathering of MBA students participating in a sporting event. MBAT consists of three days of sporting competitions and festivities, which take place on the HEC Paris campus and select locations in the surrounding area.
